Hello I'm Katie, the founder and owner of Proactive Stride. I have grown up around horses, taking up riding from a very young age before getting a couple of my own! That did not come without challenges, with my main horse having a traumatic past, taking a lot of trust and patience to overcome this. This has, however, changed my whole approach to horses and animals, providing them with a sympathetic and gentle hand to gain their trust and confidence.
My journey into veterinary physiotherapy began due to developing a strong interest in rehabilitation and recovery, finding it highly fascinating how versatile and adaptive these creatures are, recovering from a magnitude of injuries. Seeing how integrated therapies could transform a horse's movement and performance or a senior dog's comfort changed my focus forever, building on my interest in this field. This led me to complete a degree at ARU Writtle, obtaining a Level 7 Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy in 2026.
